I started the project because I had a personal need to access my printer remotely - I need full access to the OctoPrint portal so I could use all of my plugins. I setup port forwarding for a while (which you shouldn’t do because it’s super insecure), but I thought there must be a better way.\n\nSo, I came up with OctoEverywhere! What I was able to create was a super easy to use, secure, and powerful system that allows you to access your full OctoPrint website portal from anywhere! Since it’s the full portal, all of your plugins work and even you webcam! Another cool side effect of how the system works is OctoEverywhere can power 3rd party apps to work from anywhere as well!\n\nI’m trying to slowly open up the system to the community to see how it scales and to work out bugs. One of my major goals of the system is to keep it accessible for the entire community, thus the system is free. My goal is to use the supporter account system to balance the offset of server costs from the free accounts. But I need to see how well the system can scale in terms of free accounts and supporter accounts to know if that’s practical. \n\nThus, I call on you reddit!
