Description
Plot is built around a simple idea: everyone has a part to play. The host picks a game, shares one link, and every player's browser becomes part of the same story. Players can be in the same room or across the world, and there's nothing to download or install.
I built Plot for game nights of any size. Its library includes escape rooms, mysteries, story games, and quick party games that take anywhere from 2 to 30 minutes. Many games give each player a different piece of the puzzle, so the group can only win by talking it through together.
How It Works
One Link To Play
The host chooses a game from their library and creates a party. Friends join by opening a single link, with no app and no account required.
Realtime Parties
Every device in a party stays in sync, so moves, guesses, and story beats show up on everyone's screen at the same moment. Games support anywhere from 2 to 64 players, depending on the game.
Player Profiles
Every player gets an anonymous profile with a name, icon, and color. Players can claim their profile with an email magic link, and Plot keeps track of achievements along the way.
Games
Game Library
The library has 11 games across four categories: escape rooms, mysteries, story games, and quick play. A few examples:
- The Missing Minute: a free four-player mystery where each stranger remembers one piece of a lost minute, and the truth comes out only when they share what they know.
- Thereabouts: a free realtime guessing game for up to 64 players, where one player gives a one-word clue and everyone watches the guesses move live.
- Exit Interview: a co-op escape room set on your final day at Halcyon Labs.
- Signal Lost: a voice-optional mystery about an abandoned radio tower broadcasting four versions of the same warning.
Games can also use optional browser features like the microphone or camera, and Plot asks for permission before using them.
Buy Once, Replay Anytime
Some games are free, and others are a one-time purchase that the buyer can replay whenever they like. Only the host needs to own a game, so friends always join for free.
