Description
Zune Playlist Shuffler filled a gap in Microsoft's Zune software: it shuffled the order of manually created playlists. Users selected a playlist and clicked Shuffle. An Add Directory option let them find playlists stored outside the usual location.
The original instructions recommended closing Zune before shuffling so that both programs would not try to write the same playlist. Version 1.3 was offered as an 18.3 KB Java archive.
Quinn shared it with r/Zune on April 28, 2010, explaining in the announcement's title that he had made it for himself and wanted others to use it too. The post links to the original quinndamerell.com/ZuneShuffler/ page, establishing that it was publicly shared before the surviving June website capture.
Original Record
The product page saved on June 7, 2010 preserves the original instructions. Its footer says it was last updated on June 3, 2010; neither date establishes the original release date. It is part of the full website archive.
